The Existence Of The Sun God And The Sun Goddess

By Haywood Hunter

Since the beginning of time there have been religions and they have been constantly changing. Each region of the world believes something different. The sun is at the center of most religions. Having a sun god or sun goddess is normal for most of them.

It doesn't matter if they have a sun god or sun goddess in their religion, at the core it is all the same. We are warmed by the warmth of the sun. It makes light so that we can see. Plant life thrives on our planet because of the sun. It keeps us alive.

Those who are thankful to the sun believe that they should be because it provides for them. They feel that they should be thankful to what gives life and nurtures it. They often times will worship the sun or create a sun god or sun goddess to represent it.

A lot of cultures use a sun goddess for fertility. They see the sun as responsible for new life on the planet. Men and women will sometimes have a sun goddess present or they may pray to one when they are attempting to conceive.

A sun god or sun goddess may have been thought to have ridden in chariots in the sky. Other people thought that they may have worked with perhaps another sun god or sun goddess to actually moved the sun through orbit.

Sun idols took on many forms and names. Some of them looked like animals. Lions and Owls have been used as a sun god or sun goddess to represent the sun in some religions.

The sun god and the sun goddess have been known under many names. In Greece the sun god was called Apollo. It was thought that he flew threw the sky in a chariot. The Greeks thought that he was responsible for the sun moving around the earth.

When it comes to the Ancient Norse religion, they had both a sun god and a sun goddess. The male entity was referred to as Freyr and rode a boar. He was believed to sail across the seas in a ship and when his ship was not on the water, he folded it up and placed it in his pocket.

When it comes to any religion, there is always those who find it all a little hard to believe. Even the stories of Jesus seem a little out there to some. Walking on water and transforming plain water into wine just doesn't seem feasible to those who are skeptic.

If you choose to worship Jesus or any other sun god or sun goddess, that is your right. Always follow your heart and what feels right to you when making that particular decision. All of this came about when man was looking for answers to why we were here and why the sun and sky exist. It isn't completely certain which one is truly right or wrong. All anyone can do is follow what they believe deep down inside of them.
